Ramadan/ Morning cleanup of riverside

Ramadan Good Deed Gathering at Schwiebert Riverfront Park

We will be meeting at 101 17th St, Rock Island, IL 61201, at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, for a Ramadan good‑deed action rooted in service, compassion, and community solidarity.

As part of our observance, we’ll spend time cleaning the riverbank along the Centennial Bridge, helping restore the beauty of the space we all share. Afterward, we’ll walk through downtown Rock Island to greet our unhoused neighbors with kindness, conversation, and dignity. We’ll be offering supplies, canned goods, and simple gestures of friendship — because during Ramadan, acts of generosity carry deep meaning.

Please remember that this gathering takes place during a fasting day, so we will be working with intention, patience, and care for one another’s energy levels. The focus is not speed or volume, but sincerity: doing good together, honoring the spirit of Ramadan, and strengthening our bonds as a community.
