Why Friendship and Community Matter for Resistance
Trust Enables Action. Deep friendships create the trust needed to organize risky or sustained actions. When people know each other, they coordinate faster and support one another through setbacks.
Mutual Aid Builds Resilience. Regular gatherings become a network of care people share resources, skills, and time so the group can withstand pressure and keep working toward change.
Shared Culture Sustains Commitment. Games, music, and food are not distractions; they are glue rituals and shared pleasures that make long campaigns livable and meaningful.
Skill Development and Capacity. Casual activities teach practical skills facilitation, strategy, art, logistics that translate directly into organizing capacity.
Prefigurative Politics. By practicing the values we want to see cooperation, mutual respect, creative problem solving we model alternatives to hierarchical systems and strengthen our credibility.
Emotional Safety and Burnout Prevention. Resistance requires stamina; community provides emotional grounding, reducing isolation and preventing burnout.
